That is a GREAT question! Do you know that there are over 40,000 companies that provide security products and services in the US alone? Most homeowners we have talked to have only heard of one.

In addition, there are hundreds of websites offering “objective” feedback BUT unfortunately not many offer an honest assessment of the top players as well as the pros and cons of their solution.

That is why we created AlarmPro.org.  Through our research and experience with each company, we rank them in an unbiased, open and honest fashion. We also include reviews by past customers of each company and ALL user comments are moderated by our Reviews team.

We are often asked about how we rank security companies. Like many sites, we are compensated through affiliate relationships with each company we review, however all of our rankings are based on our Home Security Ranking Methodology. We basically look at 10 aspects that make a top security company and we weight our rankings in the following areas.

Who writes your reviews?

We have a team of industry veterans that all contribute to each review. However, our primary writer is Sergeant JL Sumpter, a 17 year law enforcement officer and home safety writer and trainer.
